James Bowers, MD

Joint Replacement

Dr. Bowers began his medical school education at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. Upon graduation, he completed a residency through Duke University Medical Center in Orthopedics. He continued his training by completing a Fellowship in Orthopedic Research from Duke University Medical Center.

Board-certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery, Dr. Bowers is a fellow member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and an active fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Dr. Bowers specializes in total joint replacements of the knee, hip, and shoulder, helping to alleviate joint pain and restore range of motion. He performs custom total knee replacements and direct anterior approach to hip replacements.

Dr. Bowers spends his personal time enjoying athletics, especially soccer, swimming, and triathlons. He completed the Wisconsin Ironman in 2008 and 2012. He also enjoys reading and learning to play the guitar.
