Dr. Carroll graduated from Denison University with honors and attended University of Toledo College of Medicine where he was awarded Most Outstanding Medical Student in his class. He then trained in Orthopaedic Surgery at Louisiana State University-Shreveport in northwest Louisiana. He obtained additional fellowship training in spinal surgery at University of California-Davis and Shriner’s Hospital for Children-Northern California. While in Sacramento, he worked at a busy level I Trauma center taking care of numerous spine pathologies under leading international spine surgeons. He learned advanced techniques in degenerative spine, trauma, tumors, complex spine surgery, and minimally invasive spine surgery.
He met his wife, Natalie, while in residency. They are expecting their first child in September 2021. When not with patients, he enjoys spending time with their dog, Nova, and cat, Lucy.
Dr. Carroll’s philosophy on patient care is to treat each patient as he would like his family member to be treated. He is a firm believer in evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care to treat patients. Most importantly, he will work effortlessly to develop an effective treatment plan for each patient and his / her underlying spine condition.
