Dr. Rutherford grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina and graduated from the University of North Carolina and the Medical College of Georgia. He completed residency training at Duke University Medical Center and is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. Dr. Rutherford completed fellowship training at a high volume, nationally-recognized joint replacement center in Denver, Colorado prior to practicing in Asheville, NC.
