Dr. Mark Messmer is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with specialized expertise in sports medicine, joint replacement, and fracture care. He provides advanced treatment for patients with hip, knee, and shoulder conditions.
Dr. Messmer earned his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency training at LECOM Health – MCH in Pennsylvania. He also holds a Master of Science in Medical Education from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Before joining EmergeOrtho, Dr. Messmer served as an orthopedic surgeon in the United States Navy, caring for service members and gaining extensive experience in complex trauma and reconstructive procedures.
Dedicated to patient-focused care, Dr. Messmer combines innovative surgical techniques with a compassionate approach to help patients regain function and return to active lifestyles. He currently sees patients at EmergeOrtho’s Roxboro and Oxford locations.
